Dental Implants for Supporting Dentures

Glendale Dentist Serving Phoenix, Scottsdale, Peoria, and nearby areas in Arizona

Dental implants are increasingly popular in the treatment of missing teeth in part because of their strength and versatility.   Dental implants can be used alone to replace a missing tooth or missing teeth, but they can also be used in conjunction with other options like dentures. During your personal dental implants consultation, Glendale, Arizona, dentist Dr. Donald Wilcox will determine if you’re a candidate for dental implants and recommend a treatment based on your unique needs.   Implant-supported dentures may be used if you are missing adjacent teeth along the jaw and have sufficient bone structure in which to support dental implants. Implant-supported dentures are typically used for missing teeth on the lower jaw.   Implant-supported dentures utilize implant posts that act as replacement tooth roots and are anchored in your jaw bone to support the denture attachment. There are variations on how and where the dentures attach to the dental implants, but in each situation the implants provide greater stability and durability to the denture attachment than traditional dentures alone.   For more information about dental implants, please see the following pages:
